10 new (old) ways to jazz up your outfit with jewels

Here's some new inspiration from my "in search of charm" book.

I've used 5,6 and 7 before and a variation of 10 on a 40s style beret. How about you?

  1. Love this! I've been on the look out for retro style jewellery and especially clip on earrings ever since I saw you use them as dress clips on one of your frocks! x

  2. What a terrific list. I've seen necklaces lopped in the back before, but always forget about that clever idea when I put on my longer strands. Seeing this post has reminded me that I really must give it a go asap.

Wishing you a marvelous Monday & week ahead,

  3. I had a screamingly glamorous grown up cousin when I was a child, she wore her hair in style no 3 quite often.......I thought she was the bee's knees! And my one time Flapper Granny was a fan of the backwards pearl look, too. I have her 21st birthday portrait, but the pearls are quite firmly at the front in that.

  4. It's a very good list. My designer friend often mentions how the back is, to many women, a neglected area and often includes styles with low-cut or otherwise accented backs in her collections. And recommends the backwards worn necklace to ladies who love those styles, but are a bit unsure about it. I know of at least one lady who loved it so much she ended up making it her signature look jewelry-wise.

Personally, I'm not good at accesoirising. I only wear rings and I tend to wear the same ones for a long time. However, experimenting with vintage looks in clothes has made me think about costume jewelry... Lately, I have been considering looks like 5, 7 and 9. I just haven't found the right kind of brooch yet.
