Get your bets on **Quick Competition**

We might be FAMOUS!
By that I mean that our Fleur dress might be on Telly!  Or maybe it won't...
The Fleur in disguise (Glasses by Dead Men's Spex)
Lady Jenny from our Heyday team spotted the trailers for a dramatisation about Hattie Jacques.  Hattie was a Carry On actress (a show much loved by Brits in general) who was married to Dad's Army star, John Le Mesurier and who also had a live-in lover. The show is being aired on BBC 4 This Wednesday at 9pm.
Hattie Jacques
Ruth Jones is playing Hattie and (drumroll please...) a dress she wears in the trailer is definitely the same fabric, and COULD be one of our Fleur dresses. Eee! The thing is, from the short shot on the trailer it is hard to tell if it is ours. Fleur, being always modest, thinks it isn't. Lady Jenny is positive it is. It might get rough. Do you wanna bet on it too?

Have a look for yourself at the Trailer: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00d7l35
(later amendment after a few people have commented - it seems if you are not in the UK then you can't watch it - Booo. But have a guess anyway and enter the draw.  Sorry about that!)
We are going to run a quick competition to win a £25 voucher to go towards your very own Fleur dress or something else from the Heyday web shop. You can vote "Yes it is" or "No it's not" (in true pantomime fashion) in the comments below, up until the start of the programme at 9pm on Wednesday. Only those who have answered correctly will go in the draw which we will make by random number selection on Thursday.  If for some reason we can't be sure, then we will put everyone into the draw.
As always you can get more than one chance to enter if you let others know about it. If you want to vote both ways, then simply make sure you get yourself more than one entry! That's better odds than you will get at any betting agents.

The competition rules are straight forward and offer three chances to get involved...
  • For one entry, leave me a comment below.
  • For another entry, you can retweet our quick competition.
  • For a third entry, post about the giveaway on your own blog!
Please take careful note that each time you enter you must leave a separate comment. Don't leave me one comment saying you've done all three things, as it will only be counted once!
If you commenting to say you've retweeted or blogged, please post the link.
The competition will close THIS Wednesday 19th January at 9.00pm BST
Yes it is! No it's not! It is, It isn't...Oh I don't know, but I will be glued to the set on Wednesday!

  3. I'd say yes it is too. Who's to say someone from the costume department didn't buy it from you??

    ReplyDelete
  4. I think it is. I shall be watching to be sure oh, and to see Aidan Turner do a turn as Hattie's younger lover!xxx

  5. He looks scrummy doesn't he? Don't tell Mr Wolf!

    ReplyDelete
  6. I noticed that too, but thought I was just being silly at the time, but now I don't think I am. I'm saying YES!

    ReplyDelete
  7. I say yes, I already have the Fleur dress, Its lovely!

    ReplyDelete
  8. I think it's a yes! And, as always, felt the wave of jealousy that someone else has the dress and I don't :)

    ReplyDelete
  9. Oh yes it is! I don't see why they wouldn't have bought it and possibly adapted it a little.

  10. I would guess yes but wah! It told me I couldn't watch it as it's not available in my area (since I'm in the US). :P

  14. I think it definitely is, but I had to have a few inspections, just shows how the same dress can look so different on different people.

  15. The fabric certainly looks the same so... Yes! xXx

  16. I'd just like to add that despite all your positive replies, I am 99% sure it is NOT, so if I am right, then so far... I will be the one to win the voucher... ;) hehe

It has a seam across the bust, which is the biggest giveaway.

  17. I want to vote. Boo hoo. But I can't because I can't watch the video. I guess the BBC blocks it from U.S. viewers. Makes me wonder how naughty it must be. Ooooh. Now I'm all curious.

  18. I'll be honest, I agree with Fleur, I don't think it is. Not that the Fleur dress isn't wonderful (which of course it blooming well is), but having watched and rewatched the clip, I too spotted the seam across the bust and the neckline looks a tad different! But hey...lets wait and see, it would be rather wonderful if it was, wouldn't it! xxx

    ReplyDelete
  19. It sure looks like it. So it's yes from me.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I can't see the clip - not available in my area (Norway) Still. My guess is that it isn't the Fleur dress. Don't get me wrong, it would have been truly fantastic if it was! My reason for doubting is that the BBC would have asked you first, shurely? But, judging by above comments; we can all see where BBC's costume designer has his/her inspiration from!

  21. Can't watch it either (Germany) but I go for, No, it isn't. Simply because not so many people have had this opinion yet and the chances are better. But I do hope it is and television proves me wrong, it would be so awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I'd say yes, definitely!

It's definitely the exact same fabric, I paused the clip and scrutinised it, so I'm betting it's your dress :) Hurrah!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Can´t watch it either( Germany...), but I say YES. It would be great so see this wonderful dress on television :-)

  24. Re-blogged! I still say yes :)

  26. oh yes it is!!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I HOPE it is, but I'm with Fleur, so I think it isn't

But I really hope it is, I'm Sky+ it, looking forward to it!

    ReplyDelete
  28. well the fabric is identical, I say it is.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Yes it is! Why make a pale imitation when they can have the real 'Heyday' thing.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Oooooooooo what have I started! I still think it's the Fleur, any larger curvaceous lady knows that Heyday Fleur dresses are just so flattering and comfy to wear. I am sure if Hattie was still with us she would have chosen to wear one. Cannot wait to see who's right.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Im going to say YES it is! Such a gorgeous dress!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I'm going to say YES!

    ReplyDelete
  33. This is all quite exhiting, isn't it? Wheather or not it is the Fleur only really matters in this little competition... Even if it is only a Fleur lookalike it must be good for business and you might still be famous :-)

    ReplyDelete
  34. I'm going to have to say No its not, as the sleeves look a little different...I hope it is though, as that would be fantastic for you!

    ReplyDelete
  35. After comparing the pattern I'm going to say, yes it is!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Yes!!

Even if it isnt its making me want one for myself!

    x

    ReplyDelete
  37. Yes it is! It makes sense as most costume wardrobes lacks period styles in larger sizes... Victoria Wood was wearing a pair of Clarks Ashill Bombay shoes in the Eric and Ernie drama at Christmas. So YES it's a Fleur. re post coming up!

    ReplyDelete
  38. oOOh How exciting!

    I say yes it is!

    ReplyDelete
  39. here's my blog post link for a second entry :)

  40. I'm going to go with "No, it isn't", simply because I've watched two other trailers (being a non-Brit I can't watch your link) and they don't have anything like the Fleur in it... and as if you wouldn't have it in every scene if you could! :0)
So that's a "No, it isn't" but with an "I hope it is!" on the side.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I say... "No, it isn't"

    Alissa Palmer-Still

    ReplyDelete
  42. I'm going to have to say no it isn't. It's very similar though, could even be the same fabric but the neckline looks different

    ReplyDelete
  43. I wish it was, but feel that it is not as the sleeve seams appear to be totally different, straight round armhole type rather than angled. The neckline looks more square too and there is possibly a seam in the centre bust. Below the bust it looks more fitted than it should. Though this could be due to the size and fit.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Another German, so I can´t see it. I say no. But hope differently ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  45. I would say the fabric is identical so it's a yes from me.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I'm not sure it is to be honest - the neckline seemed a bit higher - I'll go against trend and say no! x

    ReplyDelete
  47. I say no (can't see the clip but i'm guessing because many have said yes).

  54. I'd hope it would be, but since I can't see it and since most of the people say yes, I'm gonna say no... :)
